Known popularly as the Abominable Snowman, the Yeti— as the Sherpa tribespeople call it— is the Himalayan Mountains counterpart of the North American Bigfoot.

The noted mountain climber Sir Edmund Hillary (who with his Sherpa guide was the first to conquer Mt. Everest) conducted an expedition in search of the Snowman. Hillary concluded the Yeti was not a real creature.
