These were phonies or spoofs of real snake oils that were in novelty bottles and sold for amusement purposes. The bottle on the left is Dr. Jake Dawson's Liniment Tonic. The other is Doc Wizzardz Original Snake Oil Elixir. Both were noted in Joe Nickell's article Snake Oil: A Guide for Conoisseurs which was printed in the September 2006 issue of Skeptical Briefs.
